As part of our delegation trip to Qatar, we had meetings with officials at Hamad Port, as well as Ras Gas and Qatar Petroleum, and were treated to an open round table lecture at the heritage museum at the heart of Doha.
In Qatar, we learned that companies here are looking further into renewable energy and into shale gas as a substitute game changer in the economy.
At the Hamad Port, it was remarkable to see the work they had done within the last two years, essentially creating a port on land and sea that takes in over 7.5 million tonnes of freight weight. From August 2014 until now, they have taken a huge project and made it into reality. From the logistics to the challenges they face in the future, it is more than a remarkable and ambigious image of what the Qatari Port company has been capable of.
